Globalization is about the flow of ideas, capital, commodities, people and culture.
India's unique cultural diversity is recognized and appreciated all over the world.
Globalization has influenced indian culture to a vast extent
1)influences on family which is now more tending towards nuclear family
2)Adulteration of Indian values , tradition , culture .
3)Fashionistas:wearing 'suit' in marriage during summer!
4)More importance to foreign languages than indigenous ones.
5)prejudices youth in case of agriculture sector
6)adoption of wetern ideology
Although these aspects seem to be negative but globalization also has positive facets :
1)Opinionated but understanding individuals - flow of ideas across the world has given a new perspective and enhanced rational thinking.
2)Demand for equality - whether true or false, but Indian culture is patriarchal, globalization has awakened the sense of equality and increase in participation of women is positive sign for the developing nations.
3)It has allowed the spread of ideas, languages and products which were "alien" to the remote areas of our country.
4)Indian culture is being adopted by many foreigners (eg:learning of classical dance and Indian music)
5)It has allowed the people to become familiar with culture of other countries, allowing greater understanding.
Moreover, globalization is nothing but advocating the sanskrit quote "vasudevakutumbakam" i.e-the world is one family. As said by Gandhiji, "A nation's culture resides in the hearts and soul of its people", hence it's "our" culture and "we" should respect and know how to preserve and spread it across the globe. Therefore, in spite of modifications in indian culture, the core of cultural diversity in india will always remain unique and unchanged.
